If you haven't used your Netflix account in the past year, you should be expecting an email from Netflix. The company announced that they will ask customers who haven't used their accounts in the past year if they want to keep their subscriptions. If the customer doesn't respond, then Netflix will automatically cancel their subscription. This is actually saving customers money since they aren't using their account. Director of Product Innovation, Eddy Wu said in a statement,
“We’re asking everyone who has not watched anything on Netflix for a year since they joined to confirm they want to keep their membership. And we’ll do the same for anyone who has stopped watching for more than two years."
Subscribers should start seeing emails or in app notifications and if they don't confirm then the subscription will be canceled. If you change your mind later, you'll have to resign up. However, if you cancel your account and rejoin within 10 months then you'll still have all of your original favorites, profiles, viewing preferences and account details just as you left them.
