It's You Last Chance To File A Claim From The Equifax 2017 Data Breach!

If you were among those affected by the 2017 Equifax data breach, you are entitled to 10 years of free credit monitoring or receive a $125 payout. If you had to spend your time and money to recover from this data breach, you could be be able to claim up to $20,000 if you're able to prove you took a hit above $125. The deadline to file a claim is today so you have to act fast if you haven't already. If you plan on choosing the $125 payout, don't expect to get the full amount considering only $31 million of the settlement money will be used for the payouts. The FTC encourages consumers to choose the free credit monitoring option for this reason. Assistant director for the FTC's division of privacy and identity protection, Robert Schoshinski says,

"A large number of claims for cash instead of credit monitoring means only one thing: each person who takes the money option will wind up only getting a small amount of money. Nowhere near the $125 they could have gotten if there hadn't been such an enormous number of claims filed."
