#TRAVEL: STANDING "SKYRIDER" SEATS save room, but do they look comfy?

To fly comfortably these days you have to have either a lot of patience, or a lot of money.

And now there's a new invention that has the potential to make flying that much more miserable for those looking to save money.

The Skyrider 2.0 is a new compact "seat" engineered by Italian aerospace interior design company Aviointeriors. The "seat" positions a passenger almost completely upright on a polyester saddle and back support.

Hypothetically it would be used in super-economy class, and makes sense for airlines trying to make as much money by cramming passengers into every square inch of an airplane.

As for how comfortable they are, a reviewer at the travel review site The Point Guy tried one and says of spending ten minutes in the seat in both the front and back row, "The front row wasn’t bad, but at 5 foot 11 inches tall my knees were firmly planted against the seat back for the entire time in the rear row."

He added that the saddle itself "didn't seem to be bad."
