Amanda Bynes' Mom, Who Hasn't Met Her Fiancé, Will Decide If She Marries

Awkwardly enough, Amanda Bynes’ parents have yet to meet her fiancé, Paul Michael.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Bynes, who announced her engagement via Instagram on Valentine’s Day (February 14), apparently hasn’t introduced her new man to her folks yet. Additionally, the source adds that the actress and her 28-year-old beau — who met “a little more than two months ago at the same sober living facility” — also don't live together.

Obvious reasons aside, the bit about Michael having not met her parents is a concerning considering the insider notes the child star is under a conservatorship, which means she can’t legally get married unless her conservator, her mother Lynn, signs off on the wedding with a judge. What’s more, the same judge ordered the 33-year-old to go back to sober living after she voluntarily checked out of the program on December 12.

Given the time line of these events, it only makes Bynes’ engagement announcement all the more brow-raising. “Engaged to tha love of my life,” the She’s the Man star announced on IG, much to the surprise of her followers. In the shocking photo, Bynes flaunts a massive diamond ring on her finger right beside another person’s hand — later revealed to be Michael’s — which bears a gold wedding band.

She took to social media the following day to make the engagement Instagram official by sharing her very first selfie with her then-mystery man. Shouting out her “Lover” in the photo, Bynes appears with pitch-black hair alongside Michael, who is dressed in a blue-and-black checkered button-up shirt.
