This Dog Was Bitten by a Rattlesnake While Saving His Human

A six-month-old golden retriever from Carefree, Arizona is deservedly being hailed as a K9 hero after he stepped in to save his human from a rattlesnake. The very good dog was bitten on the face by the snake while defending his human during a walk but is expected to make a full recovery. The story went viral after the popular Twitter account WeRateDogs posted photos of the heroic pup.

"This is Todd. He saved his human from a rattlesnake yesterday," the account wrote. "A true h*ckin hero. He's expected to make a full recovery and has been rewarded our fifth every 15/10."

There's no doubt that heroic Todd deserves the 15/10 rating, as well as the praise on social media. I mean, come on, just look at that face.

"For me, he's definitely my hero," Todd's human, Paula, told Fox10. "That thing would have bit me for sure and I would never wish that on any of my pets or anybody."

The curious and friendly 6-month-old pup was seen cuddling up with Paula and happily playing during the interview with Fox10. It's great to see both Todd and Paula doing well after such a scary incident.

If your dog has been bitten by a rattlesnake, make sure you get your dog to the vet ASAP. They will need to be vaccinated in order to fight the venom from the bite. While the reaction to the bite will not be completely eliminated, the vaccine will help drastically reduce symptoms.

Fox10 anchor Stefania Okloie said it best: You know that old saying, that we don't deserve dogs? I think Todd has proven that to be true.
